WHAT ARE THE DIGITALIZATION LEVELS?

Each process should be analyzed in detail when determining the digitalization needs. While some steps have not yet been digitized, some steps may be already being managed by smart algorithms.

There are many different levels of digitalization developed by different organizations. We use 6 digitization steps determined by Acatech Academy:

· Measurability : Digitizing the action and information in processes.

Examples: Obtaining information from the process by methods such as sensors, RFID, barcode, image processing, HMI.

· Connectability : Integration of the digitized information in the processes to other processes.

Examples: Transmission of raw material quality control information to production, transmission of information such as finished product, WIP to planning.

· Visualization : The transfer of information transmitted from processes to people with visual warnings.

Examples: Operator can see information about the currently operating product on the screen. Which raw material was used? What is the OEE level? To which customer is my vehicle currently heading?

· Transparency : Showing the input-output relationship in line with the information transmitted from the processes.

Examples: The ability to instantly see from which supplier the quality problem in the machine output originated with BI solutions. Why was the requested quantity not delivered?

Predictability : Using the input-output relationship transmitted from the processes for estimation by using mathematical models.

Examples: Predictive Maintenance determines the bearing that may fail, replacing the CNC cutting tool before the tolerance mismatch error occurs with predictive quality, depending on the current traffic and workload determining how many customers my delivery vehicle can deliver today,

· Adaptability : The processes can be operated without human interaction using learning structures in line with the formulated data.
